Bermagui Blessing
The Bermagui Blessing is held at Bermagui Fishermen’s Wharf against
the magnificent backdrop of the harbour and Gulaga Mountain.
The non-denominational service blesses all watercraft
and crew who venture from Bermagui Harbour. Soloists and choirs lead
the singing of the hymns.
Street Parade
The Bermagui Seaside Fair Street Parade is one of the opening events
of the Fair. Locals and visitors alike thoroughly enjoy the
spectacle of a live parade with everyone getting into the atmosphere
of the Fair early in the day. Hundreds of spectators line both sides
of Bermagui’s main street to watch the kilometre-long parade …. a
colourful mix of groups, individuals, vehicles and
musicians.
The parade provides a
showcase of the town’s community and business groups who dress up
according to the ‘theme’ of the year. For each parade, floats are
decorated according to the theme and participants range from the
local State Emergency Service and Rural Fire Service, the Bermagui
Public School and Pre-School, indigenous community members, sporting
groups and local businesses.
Street parade themes over the years have been Seaside Living,
Celebrations!, Love the Life we Live!, Bermagui Bling – Let’s Shine,
Bermagui: Proud of Our Place, Messin’ About in Boats, Hey Hey It’s
Hat Day!, B for Beautiful Bermagui, Bermagui – Out of This World,
Pirate Pageant, Rio Olympics, 20th Birthday Mad Hatters Party and
Down by the Seaside.

Postcards Art Competition
In 2018 the Bermagui Seaside Fair introduced a new avenue for adults
and children to explore their artistic and creative expression in
the Postcards Art competition. Postcard size artwork was created
that was displayed at the Arts & Crafts Exhibition with great prizes
for the People's Choice awarded in primary school, secondary school
and open artist categories. All work was created on the boards
provided and followed the event’s theme. The postcard artwork could
be offered for sale if the artist wished.
An entry form for the 2020competition will be available to download
from this site closer to the event date.
Bermagui Seaside Fair Battle
of the Bands
In 2018 the Bermagui
Seaside Fair Battle of the Bands competition was a huge success
providing a great opportunity for young aspiring musicians to try
their hand at a live performance and to experience the excitement of
performing in front of an audience. The NSW south coast region is
teeming with talented young performers and musicians and the Battle
of the Bands endeavours to give these performers some exposure, not
only to their local community but to visitors as well.

Kids Entertainment &
Free Novelty Events
The kid’s entertainment program is a highlight of the Bermagui
Seaside Fair. There’s a children’s show guaranteed to captivate and
delight both young and old, free novelty events such as three
legged, egg and spoon and sack races that run all day after the
street parade and every child gets to choose and keep their
favourite from a huge box of stuffed toys. There’s a sandcastle
competition, pet pageant, fireworks and more!
Photographic Exhibition
2006 saw the first stand alone photographic exhibition at the
Bermagui Seaside Fair. It was a tremendous success and has gained in
popularity each year since.
The exhibition opens on the Friday before the Fair and closes on the
Sunday after the Fair when prizes are presented in both senior and
junior categories

Arts & Crafts Exhibition
The Arts and Crafts exhibition has always been a major feature of
the Bermagui Seaside Fair and includes a fabulous array of painting,
pottery, leadlight, glasswork, woodwork, needlecraft and china.
An entry form for the 2019 Arts & Crafts Exhibition will be
available to download from this site later this year.
Sandcastle Competition
The Marshall & Tacheci Real Estate Sandcastle Competition is a
wonderful opportunity for the whole family or a group of friends to
spend an hour or two letting their creativity run wild in the sands
of beautiful Horseshoe Bay Beach.
Don’t forget to slip, slop, slap and bring a drink. Great prizes to
be won!
Live Entertainment
There’s live entertainment and demonstrations all day long at the
Bermagui Seaside Fair. The program varies each year and has included
live bands, dance, choirs, music, fashion, lifestyle displays and
audience involvement activities.
Market Stalls
The Bermagui Seaside Fair showcases the excellence and diverse
nature of goods and services the Sapphire Coast region has to offer.
With over 100 stalls, it focuses on quality produce, cultural
activities, lifestyle displays and the local services available to
visitors and residents.
